Bios, no way lady, no way.
I put in a hp9500i it uses windows drivers.
It booted up found new equipment, installed drivers, asked for a reboot, rebooted.
When up, I put the program cd in and intalled it rebooted, and after it booted up. I made a cd for him.

When I installed mine, I had to boot the reboot (even though I knew nothing aboot it), then when the CD installation asked for the reboot I gave it the boot and it rebooted, even though it didn't boot in the first place. But I didn't have to boot or reboot into the BIOS.
And with that...Adieu and Goodnight.... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

I'll be happy to boot and reboot, even shoe and reshoe anytime over BIOS. 'specially as fast as he does it.

Good tip, Mosaic1. Have had a copy of that and others on floppies and slave drive for some time now. Came in handy from time to time.
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Now in addition to the cookies, the chilli, and the beer, you also owe me a piece of paper for editing after I printed https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Thanks Mosaic. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Oh, c'mon now, QoH! You should have all this stuff memorized by now.... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Have seen some post where folks are having trouble with windows picking them up. Why I am curious.

Mosaic1: Have all cabs burned on a CD, along with current vxd's and some dll's; copy of old bios.bin file (copy of BIOS just before new flash). Any and all files that were found in searches (icons, bmps) that would take another year to find if lost, etc.
greengoose1: Can't say I have. never really had the need; just what I've picked up at work and that's not too much. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
thanks bistro. Was just curious https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Train:
I've found that the easiest NIC's for me to use have been the 3COM 905B and 905C cards. They are 10/100 NIC's. I should point out though that I always use the NIC drivers from 3COM's website.
sdtech
Thank you for the information.
Good morning folks.

On board with sdtech, my 3Com 905C was a smooth installation. I bought it on Ebay, without any drivers ($35), so I downloaded the drivers from 3Com's site before installation.
Note: 98se doesn't have drivers for 905C included, they will need to be added. Easily done in the "Add Hardware" section.

The probes that come with deluxe computer tool kits are great for getting that grit out from under fingernails... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Excellent. Looking forward to seeimg how neat your innards are. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ ...no, I do not want that endoscopic view you had last week.
Got the Router and a netcard.
Then got a 17" monitor for the new computer.

The Juan Valdez model. Beautiful. Morning All, home with the bug along with one of the kids, but on the mend. We have an epidemic of this junk going around here. Can't even get into Dr's. So used the internet to diagnose and cure - maybe.

19" with OSD = a learning curve.
Had to disable the power management in OSD, and back down video acceleration one notch.
Seems to be doing ok now. Was locking up when you click on links or try to post here.
Guess it was going into standby mode or something.
