Made the above changes and the only 1 which made a difference was the Disabling Fast-ShutDown... it stops the error but PC does NOT power-off automaticly...
FYI: my power managment is set as follows:
System Standby =60mins
Turn off Monitor =30mins
Turn off HDD's =45mins
i hope the fast-shutdown thing narrows it down a bit!!!

Thx i just ran ASD and it said...
Windows stoped responding while trying to perform one of the following tasks.
Calling a PnP BIOS => Get Statically Allocated Resorce Information
adition details from clicking Details...
Win encountered a fatal prob while calling a PnP BIOS Function.
Specific function that caused prob is: Getting Statically Allocated Resorce Information

check the box in asd and reboot.
For display properties (right clik bland area of desktop and choose properties) click advanced and under the monitors tab your monitor is correctly identified and not an unknown? All three boxes for Pnp, reset etc are checked?

With a good backup program u can UNDO (almost) all your mistakes & bad installs etc in Windows!
