if we assume the disc is good, which i believe to be true, what would be the next step?
Also, I want to thank you for all of your time, assistance and advice so far, you've been extremely helpful and patient.
doesn't work......computers are really not worth the time required to keep them runnig. Time to toss the thing in the garbage where they belong. Life has been so much easier/better without them anyway. (People can't claim they didn't get your email if you call them instead, etc.) It has been freeing to not have one.
lol....i should have threatened to toss that thing out a while ago......it was on its way to the recycling place and thought i'd give it one more try.....and i was able to re-load xp!
so now, it's a blank slte, no biggy, i had everything backed up.
can you point me to where and what order i need to download all of my goodies that are gone....
first, i guess i need to check if xp firewall is on...not sure how o do that.
then, i believe i was runing the following:
super anti spyware
malwarebytes
tfc by old timer
adaware
are there better ones than the ones i was running?
Can i go online and sart downloading superantispyware or is there an order that is best to follow so as not to get infected?
Avira (is this free version good or are there others that are better?)
thanks agian for all your help
