Other nice thing I remember was Hershey bars.
You and my pal in Leigh that I'm visiting. He was a kid in WW2 and American G.I.s gave him their hershey bars. 1st time over I asked what I could bring from the states and he said "Hershey bars", so I brought a dozen.

oh i bet yoy don't have jaffa cakes over there in the US. now those are addictive!
Never heard of them...... but if cake is involved ..... I'll like it :D
Clotted cream is like a really thick sweet whipped cream, but much much heavier consistency.
I thought thats what it might be ... thats why I want some :D
I figured it was somewhere between a rich whip cream and Creme Anglaise (the stuff in Eclairs and boston cream pies)
*yummy*
For something so delicious they sure picked an ugly name for it. Clotting conjures up images of congealed blood, not a yummy dessert.
Well...... I believe there is a thing called Blood pudding ... made of just that ... but I'm not sure I could or want to try that ... My grandfather spoke of it and according to him it was delicious ;)
Well we don't discuss that. Some things should never be pudding, and blood is one of em.
lmao ... I think I would tend to agree with that
:p
Good morning everyone....and welcome to this edition of "The Junk Food Lounge". Today we will be discussing such delectable treats as Blood Pudding with Hershey Chocolate Sauce, Deep-Fried Mars ice cream bars with Chicken Wings, ....

What is black pudding?
Black pudding is boiled pig's blood in a length of intestine. In the UK our puddings are usually bound with cereal with suet or cubes of fat added. European puddings are lighter because they are often made with cream instead of cereals.
Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish. Although there are many recipes, it is normally made with the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver, and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately an hour. It somewhat resembles stuffed intestines (pig intestines otherwise known as chitterlings), sausages and savoury puddings of which it is among the largest types.
