I see you have a Zone Alarm Firewall. I think I had to turn mine off.Quote:

As follow up to my earlier posts, I looked aroung Adobe Flash's FAQ's and came up with this page
http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...lp/help06.html
I suspect it shows (at the top) the window with the Allow button I should be seeing after the Refresh step #5 mentioned in my first post. Unfortunately, that webpage gives no advice on how to get that window to appear if it does not after the first five action steps.
Thanks usil .
It seems I was the only person (in the US anyway) having a problem accessing the site, but many of you offered ideas. So I thought I should post the fix offered by Pandora.
When I clicked on the "How do I do it" link on the window I was offered when I first accessed www.pandora.com, I got a series of instructions, but none helped. I think they included uninstalling Flash and reinstalling, etc.
Then Ian Ellison of Pandora responded with this suggestion. Not only did it fix my Pandora problem, but it alerted me to an Adobe page which may help you solve problems on sites using Flash in the future.
"Adjust Flash Local Storage settings manually
-Please visit:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...03.html#117498
[The window you will see at the top of the page is the actual global configuration window for your flash player.]
-Make sure "allow third party flash content to store data on your computer" is checked.
-Drag the slider up if it is below 100k (I recommend 'unlimited').
-Next, under global security settings (the next tab over), select "Always ask".
-Finally, under the "Website privacy" tab (the monitor with the eye in it), make sure that pandora.com com is not set to "Always deny" if it is in the list of "Visited websites". If it is currently "always deny," change that setting to "always ask" or "always allow"."
Note also the list of other Flash settings that can be accessed by clicking the links under Settings Manager in the left column.
Excellent find; Thanks Jim!
Good to hear your problem's been solved too. :)
I have never had to manually adjust Local Storage settings to be able to play Flash on a site before. (And I can access video on YouTube, TMZ, NYTimes, CBSNews, and play audio from many sites, etc.) so it was a surprise for me to learn about these settings.
all of a sudden i can't minimize Pandora , and go on to another site .
Fixed it . opened Pandora in IE , and using fire fox to browse .
Very glad you can now listen to Pandora Jim; sorry usil and others cannot---maybe later.
Several days ago, I was listening and suddenly thought of using the recording software I have on my machine to try to record Pandora. Son-of-a-gun, my sw copied 4GBs, as much as one is allowed. That is 6+ hours of uninterrupted music!! I will not be doing anything with it but was only just a trial run at recording it. It is a very great site for music.
EDIT. AH, no I wasn't using the PC for those 6+ hours; just left it running until it automatically quit.
Wow excellent site.
I haven't been able to listen to Pandora since they closed it off in this part of the world, but it looks like they will be shutting down completely due to the high royalty fees that they have to pay. How unfortunate!
Perhaps Pandora Must Be Our Sacrificial Lamb

I didn't know they were broadcasting outside the states . Hope you didn't buy one of their boxes .
In the very beginning, they broadcasted worldwide. Then all of a sudden, they stopped with a promise that they will eventually open to other countries. It never reached here.Quote:

That must be where they make the profit. Good thing you waited with it.
They also have ads on thier now .
So far I am still listening to it for free. Yep the adds are there but they don't bother the music.
