Well Dave, I think you've come to the right place. Now what version of wtf are you running?
Just kidding Dave. This indeed is the place. Ask your questions and you will find serious answers.
Welcome aboard.
clickclick is the name. Actually it's Bill Click and I teach technology at a central valley middle school in california. Good name for a tech teacher huh??? Been working with computers for 30+ years. Started as a programmer/analyst on the old IBM 1400 & 360 computer mainframes. Which didn't have as much memory as some pda's today. Certainly been fun watching and participating in "the changes" that we have all lived through. Proud of the fact that I survived and adapted fairly well. Had many successes and looking for many more.
Glad to have found this forum to help resolve some issues. Now if only I could find someone to help resolve some leaks......
Firstly, welcoem to the boards.Quote:

Next if you had any kids you could name them Button or Double if you wanted to be really mean.
A bit like that one doing the rounds at the moment about the parents whose surname is Peacock and they named their new born son Drew.
Hey clickclick,
I think I've still got a bank of CORE memory from an old piece of big iron, if you're interested!
:p
LOL :DQuote:

Some other useful names could be right middle and left.
I thought you meant for Peacock  then realised you meant for Click .Quote:

I can be a bit slow on the uptake sometimes.

To anoldbeginner
Actually I have some old core memory from an old Univac 1005. It's about 1' x 1' x 5" and I believe, if I remember correctly, it's 1k of memory. So funny. I am going to have it encased in plastic so that I can show it to our students without they tearing it apart.
And to everyoen else, [see i spell just like you all]
Oh, and I do have two kids. Both grown now. A daughter who 2 years ago made me a grandpa and a son who any time now may ask his girlfriend to marry him. My wife and I have been married for about 32 years now.
Interesting thread! Here's my spec's:

A simple test to see if a travelling US'en is posing as a Canadian:
Ask the person to say the last letter of the alphabet.
A true Canadian will pronounce it as - ZED
BTW, a US'en is someone who lives in the United States.
Canadians, them, and Mexicans are all "Americans" ;)
you would think that everyone one who lives in any of the American continents would be considered "Americans", not just North America...
Where I come from, it's pronounced "Amurkans"
Merry Christmas!
When my eldest boy was learning the Alphabet he started saying Zee instead of Zed.Quote:

We realised it was because of the Sesame St software he played where they all said Zee.
A European, having learned British (Oxford) English, would say ZET as well, which makes for an interesting expression on the cops face that gives you the DUI test... but that's another storyQuote:
