The info here is awsome. Thanks for the help guys, I too had isearch's toolbar but with the posts here I was able to uninstall it.
I just have one question, how do I uninstall HIJACK?
Thanks again
Mac
Mac,
Q. How do I uninstall HijackThis?
Start it, then click 'Config', 'Misc Tools', 'Uninstall HijackThis'. Then delete HijackThis.exe. You can also delete the backups it created if you like.
The above is from the link below.

Thank You Thank You..no more Isearch, the uninstall worked great
Thank you Tufenuf, it uninstalled.
Mac.
I have the same problem with the Isearch toolbar, the only thing is, i cant uninstall it and I've tried everything. The thing is, i deleted it from the Downloaded Programs File. Whenever I click on the link to uninstall, it says "error, unable to uninstall Isearch Toolbar". and when i try to install it again, it says there's already a version. I dont know how the hell I got it anywayz, i was just browsing and then all of a sudden when i restarted, the toolbar was up. HELP ME ANYONE!!!
if you will do a search at GOOGLE.COM and type in "BTIEIN", you'll find that this "BTIEIN" registry key is a SPYWARE that takes over your browser's settings....... AdAware and HiJackThis and all other Spyware removal programs that i tried could not remove this registry entry.... i had to go into my registry and change the permission settings for this particular key.... BUT FIRST, i had to change the permission settings for a registry key named "BULLGUARD" because the "BULLGUARD" key controls the "BTIEIN" key" (you pick these two SPYWARE keys up when you visit and/or download the KAZAA peer to peer file sharing software web site)(the BULLGUARD software sponsors KAZAA)
....these two SPYWARE programs work in collusion with 4 (or 5) other SPYWARE programs, all of which you'll read about(and also need to remove from your computer)
when you do the search with GOOGLE.COM......i wish you success with these (very difficult to remove) spyware removal procedures.......you may not see my procedure, i.e., "deleting the BULLGUARD registry key before deleting the BTIEIN key" but this is how i had to do it to get them out of my registry.....it took me a few months of trial and error with testing various ways before i was successful at removing these very resilient spyware....i wish you success with all of your computer problems.......sincerely, sweet pea

I am disallowed (unless it's really not there) from seeing the methods to fix the grayed-out IE toolbar by following the link given earlier (to kelly korner something or other).
Any help with that is also appreciated, greatly.
Thank you.
EDIT:
I also wonder what all those host files are there for kelly korner already without having ever been to the site.
I have heard bad things about host files, but being a total novice, I don't know what "bad" is.
I Got rid of that DAMN thing finally, All thankz to Hijack this. Thanks for all the help
This is for PuterLerner...only..& I would suggest that anyone else please start a new topic..it's much too confusing...to keep track...of more than 1 log or problem..in order to fix it...
With all other browser windows closed..and only HijackThis running..check the box in front of:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,CustomizeSearch = ,
ALL the O1 - Hosts: entries

Click "Fix Checked"..reboot
Please post back & report how things went.
In fact..rescan with HijackThis & post your new log into your next reply.
Thank you for then help and I apologize for not starting a new thread about this. Guess I was a bit scared.

I am able to get to that kellys korner site now, but I have not yet used the toolbar repair program. Once work is a little slower, I will do that as well.
Thank you again. Very much.
Well..you're among friends ..no fear here :D
Looks like junky toolbar & cruddy Hosts file is gone and you're able to access those sites again.........huh?
Yes, I am able to go where I previously was denied.
I am still trying to rectify my grayed-out toolbar problem, but unless I did something incorrectly, I am unable to fix that.
At least I'm learning. :)
Members this thread is getting real long and some of us have a real hard time answering the different questions. Please make a new thread in our Security/Viruses Forum so you can get the help you need with the iSearch toolbar problem. :)
exaibachey, I moved your post here.
