Got mad last night and taped a u shaped piece of paper to the input fan casing and aimed the airflow across the video card. Also to check out.
Outcome : No lockups today and the cpu is now at 87 degrees.
So going from the factory pad to silicon heatsink compound dropped the temp by about 5 degrees F. [2 C.]
Then ducting the air across the video card it tends to push the heat to the case fan.
And the outcome is a much cooler system.
The temp of the air coming out of the powersupply has dropped from 100 - 105 down to 83. Nice difference.
Now to see about side panel and top.
Like the Global Win FOP32-1 and now going to check out the coolmaster. What I am using now.

As I recall the original plan had a money limit but on a case, that would not have made that much difference. But, in studying how ya'all worked the fans and ductwork more room would be helpful in that you would have more latitude to have a more efficient cooling air flow.

And concider, so might have had a problem with ribbon lengths, I could have mounted a nice quiet 300 cfm squirrel cage blower in there [seperate ac source] to move the air and on the intake side ,manifolded it to the 40 degrees outside.

Great for expandibility, but if there's no need for 5 or 6 bays, whatcha' gonna do with them? You could fill them up with the above Digital Doctor, a bay cooler, audio panel, etc.. Would look great; but looks aren't everything (I can't believe I said that... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/)---need functionality too.
Also helps to have a mobo that'll support at least two hard drives and at least 3 IDE devices (which the Abit BX-133 does). So if you want/need to go over to a full tower, you have the mobo to do it.

Painted the front panel a "hammered metal blue" this afternoon---it's drying now---looks great. Took a little while to mask the LED "prisms" on the front--pretty tiny. Looks so good I might do the whole thing in the same color (what? No "contact paper"??!? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/). Yeah...gonna keep them beige for now--still looks good against the blue. Just trying to decide whether or not to sand down the panels and apply primer first, or take my chances and just paint over them. Had a bad past experience with plexiglass--that stuff is tricky when it comes to drilling, I know.

Are you smelting steel inside that case???? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ A 120 on top makes for quite a blowhole---if you're overclocking the CPU and vid card, it would come in handy. Some folks have put 120's on the side panel--a bit of overkill in my opinion---80's would be sufficient for most systems. A 120 intake in the front though is desirable. Make sure you're bringing IN a little more air than what is being exhausted; better for the system.
Recommend aluminum or foam filters on all intake fans and tape up any vents on the side panel or rear that aren't necessary. Would be interested in seeing some pics when you're through, viper0070. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Another thought--having a DVD and a regular CD-ROM may be overkill. A DVD-ROM probably is the better choice---reads CDs faster than a regular CD-ROM. (i.e. DVD 1x reads files faster than a CD-ROM 8x and on up in that manner). Would free up a bay for other stuff. (Bay cooler, digtal doc panel, audio panel, tape backup, whatever).
