Excuse me if I missed something. But wouldn't a "generic" Win98 bootdisk with CD support enable the CD? I realize that it sounds like the floppy (or drive) is shot, maybe a shot of compressed air to blow dust out from this old floppy drive might help..... Don't trash it just yet! Even though the computer retail industry can use the business...
