Ok, i am not sure if it is a typo or what but now, i have a MozillaPlugins] folder (with the ]) and in there is the @cnw.com/cnwplugin
Is that supposed to be separate from the one without the ] ?
As it is, i tried to remove the AnyMeeting app/program, and i still get the same error message.
-
Oops, sorry about that. You're right, it is definitely a typo. That trailing "]" does NOT belong there. Right-click that "MozillaPlugins]" in the Registry and select Delete (or Remove). Then try this one instead:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@cnw.com/cnwplugin]
"Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\AnyMeeting Plug-in\\npcnwplugin.dll"
-
I went through the same steps. I found the key in the correct folder.
I went to remove AnyMeeting and i still get the exact same message :(
-
Did you follow the steps at the links I posted to regain access to the registry keys? You may need to perform the procedure for each level of the registry key in question, especially if malware took away your access before you got it cleaned out.
-
And if that doesn't work, you might try Fred Langa's "Win7's no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall." It's a fast, nondestructive, in-place, total reinstall of Windows 7 that won't damage your user accounts, data, installed programs, or system drivers.

jdc, i will go over those again, but the second link seems terribly complicated for me.
As for the first one, i don't want to mess up anything, and when they mention this key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Component Categories\{62C8FE65-4EBB-45e7-B440-6E39B2CDBF29}
am i supposed to follow the instructions for that one in particular or is there another key to click on?
It just does not LOOK like the one that is causing issues, so i don't want to tweak something that should be left alone.
-
The key referred to in the first link is the one that referred to the problem with the .NET issue. You should substitute the key you are getting the Access Denied problem on, as shown below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
-
Should i use this whole line:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@cnw.com/cnwplugin
or just
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
?
-
Use both, start with:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
and then the other one:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@cnw.com/cnwplugin
-
I followed the steps and all the permissions are correctly set, as explained in the instructions.
I did check those on both,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
and :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@cnw.com/cnwplugin
Anything else to check?
-
Now that I look at your first post again, the keys should be as below. I assume that the "32" was not present in the registry keys you actually checked.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@cnw.com/cnwplugin
Did you re-boot and try reinstalling the software?
-
You are correct, i didn't see any "32" in the folder/key thing. I guess i was just copying and pasting without realizing it was not the same. Should i have it? Or is it somewhere else?
I rebooted this morning, when we had a power failure. And i tried to remove the program since, with the same result.

Safe mode to remove the program or to "reset" the registry key?

Safe Mode to remove the program.
