I know my phone will beep when I power off my BT headset.My Netbook has a BT proximity alert that can be set when it detects a BT capable device . The default sound can usually be set to whatever sound you'd like same as the sounds in Windows.Where are you when this sound happens?Home ,Office etc...Its possible that until recently there were no BT devices around (range is usually 33ft) .It may also be a wireless network alert .If you don't use BT turn it off ,as it reduces the charge of the battery quicker to have it running.

I don;t use BT and the alert is set to default - ie when there is a BT device nearby, I get a pop up message to tell me this is the case. No sound alert. It has alway been on and there are no new devices nearby. The environment is the same now as when this mysterious bleeb was never present in the past.
