mesa boogie, why not go ahead and download it, might work fine for you if not just uninstall all i did was a system restore after i tried it. be sure to let us know how it works for you.

I'm hoping the difference in file size is due to any improvements that might have been made since it's first release ;), but I'm not sure what size it was when I got it off the MS site.Quote:

Which web pages....well I can't honestly tell you for sure. It just occurs during my normal browsing outings. The next time it happens, I'll record the URL. It seems to be random, but I imagine it has something to do with security settings or pop-up settings or something along those lines.

the sucker that first appeared on my windows update for VISTA said nothing about being a beta version ..it appeared a few days after the final version of IE8 was released and it was around 16 megs .... like I said it was there for maybe a week and half to 2 weeks, then it disappeared completely for about 3 or 4 days, and I thought where did it go .. when it reappeared it was at approximately 23 or 24 megs and its still sitting there ... I haven't downloaded it as of yet .. and it would appear there has been an update to it, due to the increase in size ...
I dont know if it has something to do with IE8.0 here but i'll ask anyways. I had IE6 for the longest time until i got my computer in the shop for a "tune up". The technician installed IE8. Since then, i have noticed many instances when i get an eror message when trying to open a page, a site, or a blog. I checked that the SSL and TLS were checked. I changed the security setting to one step lower than it was. It does not matter. The pages that are unaccessible are not "high security" pages either. Sometimes, they can be blogs, and it will show for 15 seconds, then before it finishes loading, it will say "cannot display...". Sometimes, reloading the same page will work, sometimes not.
Would that really have something to do with IE8? If so, can it be fixed? or should i simply "de-grade" to IE7?

I have had the same thing happen with IE6, including on many pages. It is likely not an IE8 issue. If you click the Stop button before you get the error but after mosts of the page appears, you can prevent the error from clearing the page. It is often caused by ad links that are no longer valid.
I had IE8 for a short while and I had one site that would not scroll smoothly for me, and for me, that was enough aggravation to go back to IE7, which works just fine. I would assume that as the IE8 updates and service packs start coming out that these bugs will be fixed. But until that happens, I'm not going to fight it...I'll stay with IE7.
