MESA Boogie: Yes, SUPERAntiSpyware.exe no longer runs at startup if the check box (where I show it in red) is unchecked.
You still might consider running the Tray Icon though (the yellow box.) That way, you'll know when SAS is running. An added benefit is that you can right click the Lady Bug tray icon and click exit to close the program. Clicking "Close" in the main SAS window or the red "X" does NOT close SAS... :)

thanks Han .... if this program does not offer real time protection, since it is the free version, why would the icon need to be down by the clock ... what I would like to do is not have the icon there, and just run the program whenever I feel like it ... if it was the paid version, then definitely I would want it running at startup and I would want the icon shown ... sorry if I'm asking so many questions about a stupid little icon ... I just want the program to only run when I click on it to do a scan ....

Well, if you don't reboot after each scan, you need the icon to turn SAS off. Otherwise, after a scan and the interface window is gone, it will still be running in the background with no way to turn it off. To my knowledge, the only way to completely turn off the free or paid version is to click "Exit" from the tray icon.
Why does SAS run all the time? It gives easier access for updating and a right click menu choice for individual file or folder scanning. Are these pretty worthless "reasons" for the free version to always be running? Arguably so. When I have ran the free version on other users PCs, I disable the auto start every time.

thanks Han for giving me a better understanding of how this program works ... guess I will enable that little icon so I can turn the program off when I'm done scanning ....
