I was pretty active in this forum several years ago and had a little bit of off forum email and messenger contact with Big John at that time but I drifted away from the forum well before we lost him and I learnt of it belatedly. But he left a very positive impression on me and I still haven't had the heart to remove his name from my email or messenger contacts list. I guess his details will stay there to make me think of him from time to time and bring a smile to my face.
I miss ya too. My singing buddy. Great guy.
Man, hard to believe it's been a year already.
Aussiblue, that's pretty much my story as well.
And for quite a few others I remember from the good old days.
I still got most of the old "Ship thread" squirreled away.
Probably some good quotes from BJ in there.
Mike.
Well John, its been another year. Gone but not forgotten;)
He'll never be forgotten as long as we're around.
Another year. Hard to believe.
I'm glad I/we see him around here a lot in many of stickies and posts he made.
I can't believe another year has gone by.
He will never really be gone though he lives on in our hearts forever
((((John)))) :)
Already, another year. John and we all still think about ya.....
As I said in my original post. BJ was my mentor and will always be in my thoughts. R.I.P. Big Guy...
Forgotten, never!
Thanks everyone for you're remembering Big John. I heard something today, that jives, with how I'm feeling. Kim Goldman, was a guest on
Oprah; with her father Fred. Kim Goldman said it, in ref: to the the death of her brother (Ron Goldman). She and her father: were sharing their feelings about "closure". Kim stated: (or in words to the effect) that, "There is no such thing as "closure", it becomes a part of your life." SW
That is so true SW ... big hugs to you ((((SW)))) https://discussions.virtualdr.com/im.../2009/08/4.gif
SW--I don't think you really want CLOSURE in it's truest sense. I feel that way about my seven losses of siblings plus my parents. Often times it is those memories that make us go on.
