i forgot to mention one minor detail.. dont know if this matters.. i tried booting up without the memory and i got the 3 beeps.. does that mean anything
the processor and RAM are both connected.. the monitor works fine because i have it connected to my old system.. and why should i be using a video card if my mobo has onboard video.. well i even tried it with my new ati all in wonder connected and still no video.. oh and gioannou, what would u consider this issue to be?? since you dont think its memory related?
Maybe it's a bum RAM chip?? Just a thought. Maybe buy a DELL instead of taking this any farther? Some of the new "Alienware" systems are nice as well. You could always take your pieces to a shop and let some computer people take a look at it?
Over and out good buddy!
The symptoms that you describe are typicall of a DOA motherboard. It could be the RAM, but the memory wouldn't be high on my list of suspects here.
One thing does spring to mind - have you got the 12volt CPU connector plugged in? If you don't then that will also give these exact symptoms of the fans spinning up but no POST or beeps.

I just lost an older motherboard to the same symptoms. My heart goes out to you! Good luck with the replacement.
