xfx 6600gt wont play video

I have a XFX GeForce 7800gt. I had some driver problems also. When loading my video card I had to make sure the XFX Drivers loaded from the CD instead of the Windows XP Drivers loading. I later tried updated drivers from nVIDIA but had the same problems so I'm back to the XFX Drivers from the CD. I think I even tried updated drivers from XFX site too, but I know I'm back to the XFX Drivers from the CD.
Just after posting I went to the XFX site and downloaded 91.31 Drivers. It's been a while since I downloaded new drivers (these are a different driver than what I downloaded before). They seem to work fine with my card!
I wanted to make sure your Downloading the correct Drivers from the XFX Site.

When you choose your Operating System make sure you DON'T CHOOSE:
Windows XP Pro/Windows Server 2003 64-bit

Make sure you DO CHOOSE: Windows 2000/XP/XP Media Center Edition

ill try xfx ones on the cd but i have used 91.31 and no good,formating made no difference,so im waiting on xfx to get back to me we'll see,thanks for the reply

Did you get the 91.31 drivers from the nVIDIA Site or the XFX Site?
It does make a difference. Make sure you get them from the XFX Site!
I did find something I didn't like on the 91.31 Drivers, I lost the ability to Overclock my Video Card. I did a Rollback on the drivers and still can't find the place where I overclocked before. I then uninstalled the video card and drivers in Safe Mode, reinstalled drivers from the XFX CD and still can't get it to work!

to fix your problem. download old nivida drivers (71.84) they should work fine i dont know why but the new nvidia drivers dont seem to work well with 6600 cards i have this problem myself and only known way to fix it is using older drivers. :)

when you install new drivers you will need to unlock the O/C options that show up under the Nvidia control panel options as they are hidden by default. you will need to download a program that unlocks it. here is the one i use;

ok, the latest,the card wont work with any drivers 9*.** but will work with anything upto and including 8*.**.so im on 81.98 and it works,so it must be something in 9* series of drivers the card doesnt like ,so im beat for the time being ,thanks for eveyones help
