And I agree also with Shiva, XP will run on a 233mhz computer with 64mb of ram, but it you won't like it. Slow, crawls, and some things will be missing.
Yes, sorry about that link, I could have sworn it took you to the download. Anyway, your video card is lacking a lot. Does Everest tell you how much video RAM that old onboard video has? I bet it's not much more than 4mb.
Edit: Well, I was wrong, it has 8mb of video ram. Now that isn't enough to play your game/s. And it definitely isn't directx 8 or 9 capable.
Hi Chupichulo. I am very encouraged by your "missive" You think you are old at 39 ?I would,nt like to say how old I am ! ( just between you and me I,ve seen 78 summers and winters go by) Another thing, you think you are dumb? well you aint seen nothing yet. I cant figure out how to post messages . I am half way through my first "build" and have hit various problems So what chance have I got ! I am following your "case" with great interest I trust you will soon have it resolved. Pablo 126
Shoot. You're old? I'm 56. While it's true I have worked with computers for years (at work), I never tried to run my own until I was 47. Now we have three and I'm the tech support. You can do it!!
When I was in college, this was my computer: Take your math problem over to the computing center, punch it in punch cards (ROTFL), and after a day or two they'd have your end product ready. . . . Occasionally we might get access to timeshared computer time. Even then, there was no monitor, just a teletype sort of thing.
Cheers
Wendy
:D :D :D :D
I can play Sim City with no problems. Industry Giant is a very similar thing. It doesn't have the most spectacular graphics I've ever seen.
Can anyone help me uninstall Black & White? If it doesn't work, I don't want it taking up space on my disk.
Nice to see that I'm not the oldest around here, not by a long chalk! 78???
Gosh, I feel like Michael York in "Logan's Run."
Isn't it listed in Add/Remove Programs (in Control Panel)?Quote:

May be because one or more of its uninstall program files are damaged? If so, a reinstall might fix it. (Then try uninstalling again in Add/Remove).
How do I reinstall if I can't uninstall?
252??? The only way I can figure this is right is if your video card is borrowing 4MB from 256MB of system RAM. In any case, if the software can run with 256MB, it can run with 252MB (unless the install program decides to be picky and tries to prevent you from installing it).Quote:

Just insert the B&W disk again and try to install the game. Then reattempt your uninstall from the windows control panel>add/remove programs.
if you have problems and you want the disk space back, we could always just delete the files manually and just leave the registry entries (before all the techies collectively groan, you must admit that's what most uninstall software does anyway).
I'm 25, and in grade school they made me use LOGO to draw with a turtle. Maybe you're better off having no experience at all.
You know, I thought memory was supposed to double each time, like 2,4,8,16!
Maybe I'm not so clueless after all. But sure enough, in control panel it says my processor has 252.
When I try to reinstall it asks me if i want to uninstall, click no and another message appears that says it has finished checking the installation for problems, (well, how come it didn't find any!!!!??? )
click yes and I get the error message quoted above.
visited your six bullets link, profU. What's it about and why are you so into it?
Hmmm I guess if you want the space back you could delete the files from the program files directory. Then delete the shortcuts from the desktop, quicklaunch, and start menu to complete the process. Windows will try to stop you, but don't let it get in your way.
I'm the director of photography on a short, independent film called 'six bullets'. The website won't be much until we get another check from our investors, but that shouldn't be much longer. Later this year we'll have a trailer online and DVDs for sale. I figured my sig was a good place to put the link. (Evidently google thought it was too good and sandboxed me... but that's a story for another thread in another forum).
