Is Dell Putting Spyware On Computers?

Hmm. I don't have a Dell folder in program files. I do have one under C: drive though. I also did a search for support.exe and nothing came up. I guess I just plain don't have it on my computer(I have formatted a few times and didn't re-install everything that came with the computer). My computer is a bit older than yours though, Jim. I got it back in 2002.

Syzich--I do not know when Dell started putting Dell Support on their PC's. Dell's PC Restore was added only in mid-June of 2004.

Not only are they putting the notorious Myway Search on new Dells, but they are charging to tell customers how to be rid of it :mad:

There are other links there about other spyware, which Dell loads onto their PCs.

Dwight has been waging a campaign with Dell to get them to stop loading their PCs with all of this junkware. He has also been an avid reporter of all of Dell's customer support problems.
