Even on a 1024x768 screen I had to scroll 27, that's 27, yes 27 times to get to the bottom of a screen that had 40 replies on it.
That's gonna do one of a few things:
Give me RSI of the finger
Wear out my scroll wheel
Cause me to have to press space bar to page down a page
Use the scroll slider
All of which I don't want to happen.
That would be my main claim against the current (?) set up.Quote:

If anyone has noticed, Joe was given permission to change back to the old format at the thread level which makes the threads much easier to read. Hopefully this compromise will satisfy everyones distastes for the forums layout. BJ

I would like to see the ads at the top and bottom also, like it was before. I think if the purpose of the forum is to help a poster, or person with a problem they should get to use the most of the page for their information. I do not care for the way the post area is now crunched as it currently is.
This makes it look just like all other forums. I started to think about moving on at first, but will give it a chance to correct first, maybe some focus will be given back to the people with problems again.
However, I do realize that the ads are a necessary evil to keep the forum free for us too. I know too, that I, as an individual really have no control over the ultimate outcome and the dollar bill is the main player in this scenario.

Ecrosson, the ads are now onthe side for index pages, searh pages etc for threads, they are now at the top.
Are you not seeing things that way ?
Thank you Nix, I am now seeing things that way. At first I was not though. On my displays it had the posts crunched on the side with a big blank space on the right.
It has been amended to just show that way on the indexes, etc, just as you say.
