Where do you get your spyware/malware?

Nix,,One more reason to have a 'good' AV program installed. I've used eTrust Easy Antivirus for many moons. If even a tracking type cookie or anything in it's very large and auto updated data base is detected entering the TIF file, it immediately pops up a box telling what it is,and asking if I want to run an immediate scan. As an AV program, it may not be able to 'clean' the sucker, but I've also had it flag trojans and give all locations where they've landed. Can't do much better than that imho...

Still clean and running fine.

Yeah i get computers at work that have been mainly from kids looking at shall we say "Inapropriate Content"

Why is your log so small in comparison to all the others we see in the hjt forum? Don't see any AV or anti-spyware programs.

So if everyone did what you have done the likes of Symantec etc would go out of business.

OK so, why I ask don't the computer manufacturers sell purpose built computers to be set up in this manner?

The whole of www. would be safe, MS wouldn't have to keep updating windows, hackers would become redundant and billions of £'s/$ would be saved.

The problem stems from folks not Using good safe surfing techniques. for starters.

It all boils down to how you handle things. From your email to surfing the net.

EDIT But a store bought is basically setup like mine is right now.

I appreciate safe surfing techniques are required. So, as a result of unsafe surfing Symantec etc. make a killing?

But, surely if pc manufacturers built as per your build then we wouldn't have such an unsafe environment yes/no?

Have you ever seen a good explaination on how to surf safely.
Let us say a good tutuorial on the subject?
Where it explained how to do what was needed ?

I have not.

I for one, would like to see all those malware [ inset your own word here ] go bankrupt.
