I understand what your problem is quite clearly. Obviously you don't.
My only suggestion is to turn off a completely unneccessary service to see if thats causing your problem. If your download manager hasn't found the server by now it never will. Beyond that, the reason that you use a download manager is to resume partial downloads. So turning it off for a week or a even month won't matter. Unless your trying to download SP2 if you have Cable access a download manager is a complete waste of resources. Even then its little more than a toy.
Maybe somebody else can help you.

lets just stay off the subject of download managers cos it really isnt important at this point.
my only real concern is not being able to continue surfing after those active 10 min. i just want to know what the cause is and how to fix it.
