P.S. I still think we're in for big trouble. I can understand how Israelis may feel, but I don't think Bush knows what to do in Israel either.
Sigh.

Well, without getting into the Israeli situation (we'll all end up hating each other :D ) what I like about Bush is his determination to eradicate terror. Terror rules the world nowadays, and I think its important that the leader of the biggest World power is determined to fight it. Without Mr. Bush, terror would get out of control, and then I think most people would see the advantage of having Bush in the White House.
Of course, I care less about US domestic issues than you guys so my point of view is understandably not worth much to you guys.
I do understand why you would be led to think that Bush truly is effectively fighting terrorism. He talks a good game. I don't think he is, and he was clearly warned several months before 9/11. But they just blew it off. I wish Israel luck (always!), but I do not think Bush knows how.
Be that as it may. One can certainly hope that God's hand remains upon Israel. I do feel Bush has made the world a way more dangerous place by invading Iraq, and I think no place is more at risk than Israel (given the hostility of the Islamic world against it). I sit here in the United States and, given that I don't spend all my time in a major urban center (even when I go to Philadelphia daily, I'm not there at "regular" working hours; I start work when most folks are getting ready to go home for the day), hence I'm not in the kind of danger that people in the Middle East face.
Oh, I have to stop talking politics here, it'll only get people mad.

:o
Bush might have known about 9/11 but that just means Clinton DEFINATELY knew and all he did was wait out his term and not worry about it, taking the easy way out, like so many Democrats do. Its Republicans who have always had to come in and take care of business. If Kerry would have been elected I am sure we would be attacked in the very near future b/c terrorists wouldn't fear Kerry. But knowing that Bush will "take a bite out of crime" im sure they are having second thoughtsQuote:

Is that why people who cared more about moral values and what is right in the eyes of God voted for him then? Because he is not a good man? A leader with God on his side is a powerful leader. Im nost saying that Bush has made no mistakes, but knowing that hes is trying to do right in the eyes of God is very soothing.Quote:
I could say more about Bush (he is most definitely not a good man), but I'll refrain.
MaFia Jak, you are RIGHT on the mark. With BUSH in there we are safe and we have more money in our pockets to spend. Look at all the votes he got "WOW"I love the people from the south and mid-west. In my state the big cities vote for John Fonda Ker.y but the people out side the cities vote for G.W.Bush. I am so happy the people have seen the light!
I am PROUD to know you MaFia Jak.
Take Care:) http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/.../smileyhug.gif
Ok enough is enough being on the Bush bandwagon. im sure there are a lot of members that dont feel the way some of you do about our dear president so give it a rest or I shall have to close this thread. BJ
I am kind of indifferent to the whole thing, but why not let people say what they want BJ, as long as people stay polite? Isn't that what the Lounge is for?
I have no problem with that, it's when someone keeps saying pretty much the same thing over & over again is when the problem arises. BJQuote:

One Nation Divided Over Gold Oil Drugs ;)
Sad Mr Kerry didn't get his chance though.
You never know the world may have been a more peaceful place.
TJolly, Kerry had his chance and he lost. I look at it this way: BUSH is the "BIG" peace maker. Just think what the world would be without BUSH? NOT A PLACE IN WHAT I WOULD WANT TO BE. Just think about it; think it through and we will be on the same page.
Take Care:D https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Unfortunately Deltree I disagree with you. I do not see Bush as being the 'big peace-maker'.
The likes of him and Blair have told too many lies about what exactly is going on in the Middle East.
As I inferred previously the world could be a more peaceful place without Bush and Blair calling the shots.
I remember an old cliche that goes like this:
'Take a pail of water, place your hand in it, remove your hand and the space that is left is how much you will be missed.'
That goes for us all because their is always someone else to take your place.
TJolly, I don't think that a very good cliche. I like this one better!
"A SONG AND A DANCE WILL NOT PAY THE RENT !"
LMAO...Tell that to the 8 million unemployed. :rolleyes:Quote:

Oh yea I forgot..they can all sign up to kill.
Bush is waging a Christian crusade, which may end up igniting more countries in the middle east. Bush is the best recruiting tool that has Al Quaada has ever had.
I am glad that we went into Afghanistan but we should have finished that job before we started anything new.
Bush talks about winning the war on terror but it is going to end up just like the war on drugs, which has been going on for decades.
The only good thing that I can see about the Bush re-election is that when Iraq blows up in his face, he and his neo-conservatives will have to take the blame. This is one time when he will not be able to shift the blame onto Clinton.
Just as he and his henchmen did not have a plan for the peace in Iraq, he does not have a plan for stabilizing Iraq. Each month more and more Iraqis die. More westerners get taken hostage and more of our troops die or get maimed.
Bush sees everything as all black or all white as in "if you don't agree with him then you are anti-patriotic," or "you are either with us or you are against us."
Real life is in various shades of grey.
BTW, for anyone who is interested, this is how Bush really won and it is not pretty.

Surprising pattern of Florida's election results:

I'm sure that we are going to hear a lot more about this over the next months.
What is also surprising to me is that a number of conservative journalists were predicting a Kerry victory. I'm talking about John McLaughlin on McLaughlin Reports on PBS, Wall Street Review, Tucker Carlson, Zogby Polls was predicting that Kerry would win by 311 electoral votes.
There is something terribly wrong with an election system which allows the secretary of state (Florida & Ohio) to serve as the chair or co-chair of the Bush-Cheney Campaign for that state.
Bush is just holding true to his pattern in business, where he ran every company that he was associated with into bankruptcy. He was only saved by another sugar daddy bailing out the company or buying the company.
I do not want to even think about what type of financial shape this country is going to be in in four years. We are running trade deficits and budget deficits. Sooner or later, the foreign courntries which are loaning us the money (buying our securities) to cover our budget deficit are going to say no more. Or worse yet, they are going to be in a position to dictate our policy decision.
