Frebo could be a moderator.

But yes where do we draw the line, Windows Updates should be avaiable through Windows Update so why relist them.

Ad-Aware and Spybot could be listed but then what about NAV, McAffee etc etc etc.

Basically it would end up being a forum that informs those people who would probably check fairly regularly anyway ie people like us who have responded to this thread ??

'Newbies' or the uneducated probably wouldn't know they have software that can be updated let alone know to come to VDr and find the Updates forum.

Yes, P3, it was a good thought. Just that I still don't think it would help/work. As pointed out by Nix, most newbies don't even know there are updates or that they should update.

I LIKE THE IDEA....
The more people on the forum the better.
Include all updates.

if that how it is then there is no point in Frebo informing us of these updates then;)

I don't feel we need such a forum here. I get all my info and even contribute some at Calendar of Updates.

You can join that forum if one wishes to contribute in submitting update info on a program.

In my humble opinon I think your idea is perfect...have one forum devoted to just updates...ANY & ALL updates albeit Adware, Spybot-S&D, Norton etc.

I like this idea because the forums have turned into update forums and this shouldn't be in my opinion. There are more updates on some forums than Q&A.

I would love to see more cool links with tech info on the programs we all use. Just my opinon.

I would love to see a forum like http://www.worldstart.com/
has on nothing but " Tips & Tricks " that we could all use. We could call it something like " Expert Tips & Help Sites ".

I suppose anyone could post, however, I'd like to see a forum like this where just the experts post...say the moderators and experts like Train and others who have over a certain number of posts under their belt. You would certainly qualify.

Maybe even a side column written each week by a different moderator or expert on their computing experiences. I'm getting down off my soap box now. Thanks for listening!

Rgarr that would be a nice idea also there are alot of tips and tricks that people can learn from.

I sure don't think a seperate forum is needed for this BUT
I have decided to place a sticky topic at the top of the General Software forum
