Ok on my 2k PC you right click on "My network places" and select properties.(shortcut to network properties) Now select advanced and then advanced settings. You should end up at a screen showing you your bindings. Got to file and print sharing and remove the checkmark next to Tcpip. Do the same for client for microsoft networks. If you haven't got Netbeui installed this may help.
NetBEUI is a non-routable protocol suitable for small networks. Support for this protocol in Microsoft Windows has been discontinued. If you are instructed by any product support personnel to install this protocol as a temporary measure, follow the instructions below:
Open the following folder in the Windows XP CD: ValueAdd\Msft\Net\Netbeui.
Copy nbf.sys into the %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\directory.
Copy netnbf.inf into the %SYSTEMROOT%\INF\ directory.
Open network connection properties and click the "Install..." button to add the NetBEUI protocol.
