Just emaild Ward (Spider creator).
Hope to get a reply sometime soon - I'll post his reply.
Done the latest media player fix??
not sure what you mean.
I use Irfanview and WMP 6.4
now that you mention it, something happened that I had to reassign Irfanview as default for jpegs the other day...
Also, winamp wouldn't play it's radio type feature anymore the other day so I decided to rid of it - been planning to try reinstallt.
Whatcha getting at?
EDIT:
thought I was up to date on security for WMP 6.4 but apparently I wasn't - just installed wm308567.exe vulnerability update.
think it might somehow be related?
Well, looks like I"ve got it!
I read over the related posts in the 3 related threads
(this thread, the other one and this one at TSG - Nix's post about this prob occurinng after messin round in the reg got me wondered about the registry some more...
decided to try resoring earlest reg copy I had via scanreg restore and was unsuccessful trying 3 different reg copies...
that prompted me to go for the scanreg fix...
Did that
After reboot, I immediately ran Spider successfully!
Now...
I wonder how scanreg fix has affected all the little tweaks and hacks, etc that I've done over the past few years
thanks for all the support...
any guesses as to what the hey happened and what I might have done to the system by using scanreg fix?
