Bistro, you are to humble. You keep improving the "Step by Step Build List" and I can see it now in bright lights on the marquees of the world. "Bistro's Definitive List" and in small letters "change 1,128". https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
But keep working on it, seriously,, as that list will help a newbie builder tremendously. It is a very popular and easy read.

You're right Goose. Very wishy washy. He needs to just put the list out, say "follow it", and if things go wrong for someone just come back and say "Sorry, but if you knew what you were doing in the first place you wouldn't have needed the list". I am going to tentatively schedule the build for next weekend (Friday night, Saturday afternoon/evening, & Sunday) and take it from there. Got too late last night so I will be ordering the last components tonight (case fans, floppy, etc.). Checked the requirements on the USB camera box, "Pentium 166 or better" - darn, missed it by 16mhz https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ - however, I know that this particular laptop was also sold with a P233, so I'll keep my eyes open for a CPU or CF-35 for "parts" - unless anyone knows a good place to look for old laptop CPU's online?
And yes bistro, I know the list is only a guide, but it is a good checklist which I will use to double check my own list when I go through a test run, perhaps as early as tonight as well. While I'm looking for that CPU... already had the little bugger apart and back together once, I can do it again if need be https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
