Train that was very good. She would fit in perfect. Maybe she should just have her husband run for president....
Anyways, The PS from the Compaq wouldn't work, connections were wrong. So, I took the Emachine apart that I have borrowed. It is the same PS, except a few connections less. It worked. I am using the HP now, Have to say that I have been worried after a few on the win/98 forum told me that it may have hurt the MB or HD. NOthing hurt that I can tell.
What do I need to look for in the Bios? I have seached around and can't find anything about the MB. THanks for all your help, I do appreciate it.....
Bistro, that one should keep you busy for awhile.....

Go into bios and if it is like my Compaq, the info will be across the top of the screen.
That is if you do not see it while it is posting. Just before the memory count. Do no forget the Pause/break key so you can write it down during post.
See if one of these ideas work Dodge.

Thanks Train, I'll be back in a few... In the Bios, the only thing accross the top of the screen is Phoenix Bios Setup Utility.. I will see if I can find anything else....

Stil a no go. I followed your directions and all it comes up with is Phoenix. Do they by chance make a MB. Just curious. Cant find any info on anything about the MB in this stupid thing.. Starting to get frustrated at it. Other than that, still a good PC....
EDIT
I think I may have found it. (Some what) I think it is an ASUS.. I found the number on the MB it is MEW-VM.. Cant find it in particular, but Asus has some that are very close. Closer than anyone else that I can find so far....

They evidently have it hidden somewhere/somehow. Frustrating is right.
I wounder if someone in 98 would be able to tell us how to unhide it.??
Can not get my hands on a hp either!!! Hid behind the logo? Just guessing and hate being beat.
Sorry dodge, I had my hopes up tooo.

Train, I edited my post above just as you were typing. I found the numbers I think. They are MEW-VM, ASUS is the only one I can find that comes close, but cant find the exact number through them.... Still looking though...
Is that the correct # that I needed?

Just a thought, but with the Belarc advisor, I get this kind of information for my Emachine. Maybe Belarc will give you something to go on:
TriGem Computer, Inc. COMO3 1.00
Board: TriGem Computer, Inc. COMO3 1.00
Bus Clock: 66 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0631 04/19/99
EDIT: Or are you guys looking fo something different. You lost me about 10 posts ago. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
