Also did an email get sent out to members who haven't posted in a while I've seen an increase in members who registered 2 to 3 years ago suddenly posting again.
Maybe they found us via a search engine again ??

Fixed, thanks Nix for pointing that out. ;) BJ
Edit: No the e-mailing has not been done yet.
Strange maybe I'll have to ask some of them why they have suddenly posted after such a break away.Quote:

I then noticed that their status is Temporary Suspension.
Banning new members so quickly, they must have done something bad eh ?
I reported that member for spamming. He spammed 4 forums with free computers and other such crap.
Excellent our new found presence in the search engines brings the evil spammers too.
I guess (in some cases) we have to take the good with the bad.

From a personal standpoint (which means squat I know)... I hope those that have said they are unhappy enough with some of the current new board issues that they would consider leaving will at least allow a bit of time to maybe getting things corrected. I think it's fair to say this change-over did not go as smoothly as would have been hoped for. Now there are issues that need to be sorted out (or decisions made on-high as to whether they will be sorted or or not), and that looks to be something that is gonna take a bit of time unfortunately.
It's certainly reasonable though that people would be inclined to leave beacuse of dislikes in the new board. After all, it was said/speculated before the upgrade that deficiencies in the old software were perhaps keeping or driving people away. So it only stands to reason that the knife would cut both ways.
I have to throw in my 2 cents here too. I emphatically support a return to the advert on the top instead of the side. To me, the side ad just disrupts the fundamental flow of web browsing. We're always scrolling up and down, so it (to me) is not a big deal to scroll down a ways to get to the posts). But like others have said, having the info squished to the left is way too annoying.
Why is it so challenging to simply move the advert back on top? It seems from reading this long thread that just about everyone prefers that.
The complaints are being looked at & have been brought to the attention of the higher ups at JM. If everyone would exercise a little patience we may come up with a solution that would make everyone happy again. BJ
I for one am not going to rush into leaving until I know what the outcome will be. As I've said earlier, I will not leave in a sudden fit of rage, but probably more gradually. I do hope though that JM will come to their senses and change the one thing that most people get upset about.
