He just mentioned "The Trouble with Tribbles" and the fact that the klingons changed over the yrs.
Cool............Trek belongs to the whole world anyway. :D
Well come to think of it, there were no english officers on the ship. You heard the odd brit accent on a planet or 2, but none on the ship that I can recall.
By the way, did you know that Nichelle Nicholls was going to leave the show, but was talked out of it by Coretta King?
Scottie is as close you get there......
I do think that Tralane, the Squire of Gothos was making an attempt anyway. :D
I had heard that....Quote:

Yep, Coretta considered her a major and visible triumph, in that the future was being painted as a fully integrated one. So Nichelle stayed with the show after their talk.

Didn't mention that in the book. All it mentioned was, that producing the show was SO draining because of the constant fights with the network, and the incredibly tight budget they were forced to work under (overtime was VERBOTEN) that it drove both Genes (Roddenberry and L. Coon) into collapse.
No matter how you slice it...Roddenberry was way ahead of his time. Like Star Trek or hate it.....it had a major impact not only on entertainment, but the real world as well. Think "communicator" the next time you flip open your cell phone. ;)
Well I don't have a cell but I know what ya mean. He was brilliant, yeah. And he and Gene Coon did SO much on that show you have no idea. Getting scripts was near impossible, and they usually had to do extensive rewrites because of the budget.
City on the Edge of Forever was written by legendary sci-fi writer, Harlan Ellison. His original script has so many extras and was so elaborate that there was no way it was ever going to make it to the tv screen. The 2 Genes rewrote it, much to Harlan's dismay, and that's what we got to see. Harlan submitted the original it to some major sci-fi writers contest and won best script with it.
