[RESOLVED] Virus on computer Help Please..

Good Evening again. This is Kim. Troy is my 19 yr old and he is great on computers. I was sooo tired that I asked him to complete set 3 in the earlier post.

I have not talked to him as he works nights. I am now downloading Adobe Reader. I am almost to 90 percent.

This is just to keep you posted.

Also, I am hoping to finish working on this computer and give it back as soon as possible. So, I am going to work as long as I can tonight.

My Father-in-law says that Ernie is now telling him what to watch on TV and he wants her computer back. lol I love my In Laws... I am blessed with the best! (seriously).

I am now doing the kaspersky online scan. It is working and not freezing up like it did on Troy.

PS. The trying to get it done was on me.. (not you).. I have not given all the time I should have to fix this for her and I feel guilty about that...

It is at 55% at this moment. It has been running for some time but it is scanning. I am going to try to stay awake and do some more (update FireFox) and whatever else you tell me to load.... I do appreciate that you take your time to led us clean ours and others computers.:)

Empty Recycle Bin.

Update Firefox.

OTL Clean-Up
Clean up with OTL:

* Double-click OTL.exe to start the program.
* Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot
* On the OTL main screen, press the CLEANUP button
* Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

If you still have any tools or logs leftover on your computer you can go ahead and delete those off of your computer now.

Turn off System Restore:

- Windows XP:
1. Click Start.

10. (optional) If you want to keep all your programs up to date, download and install FileHippo Update Checker.
The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases.

11. Run defrag at your convenience.
