A tribute to one of our beloved members. Poppy 4...
There has been concern about Poppy 4 as he had not posted since around christmas. Upon investigation I was able to get ahold of his phone number & called this am. Talked to his daughter & she told me that Poppy had passed away due to a massive heart attack the day after christmas. None of us knew as he kept a low profile here but he was a celebrity in the Cleveland Ohio area. He was a disk jockey at WMMS Radio. Here is a sample of his radio work, http://www.supload.com/listen?s=SIilqhsUtWb. Please join in & send out prayers for his family. If you like you can leave a message in his guest book. http://www.legacy.com/cleveland/Deat...sonID=20499649 . He will be missed. BJ
For those who knew Poppy4
Hello -
For those who knew my Dad, Poppy4, I wanted to post some news. Earlier this month he was inducted into the Radio and Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame of Ohio. It was an incredible evening for us all. Here is the link to check it out -

Also, a book was just released that was written by the old program director at WMMS where my Dad was a DJ for 30+ years. The opening of the book among other areas talks about him. I have enclosed a link to the WKSU page that talks about the book and has some voice ID's (All of the station ID's are him) as well as a picture of him with a tshirt on that says Spoiled Rotten from back in the early 70's.

You all were such a huge part of his life. He loved being techy and having a forum of peers to join in with - IT was my profession until recently and it was something we both enjoyed discussing together. (I think he loved it that there were things he knew that I didn't.) Once he retired the forum became that much more to him - You were his family and I am grateful for you all. I was so sad to give the news about his passing and yet so grateful the get the call and to be able to let you all know. We were worried about you guys not hearing from him and just did not want to post it on the site.
Thanks to all of you for your postings here and well wishes in the online legacy book for him.
