Operation Delta 32
Operation Delta 32 now begins. We continue work on building, modding, overclocking, and now it seems a little gaming and hardware problems. Newbie, oldie, beginner, expert are more than welcome with either questions, comments, or how to's pertaining to hardware. There is even a little levity here. Our resident and visiting experts can't wait to help you build, mod, and overclock your first or next computer. Also included for the first time in an incomplete form are all the Op De's. A brief description will added to each as time allows to further help find a topic. This we added as it was hard to find all the Delta's by search function. Please let us know whether this helps or not. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Train, thanks for the link, i'm reading it now.
greengoose, that new Delta thread sounds good, but I dont think the Mods would allow it. Too bad...
How is your car doing???
Sure hope max gets that thing up and running. I still think he may one Major Hardware conflict running in there, and the PC is confused on what to use. Just my opinion though....

Goose, I think Dodge was referring to the "Operation Delta Beta" bistro mentioned. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

I think Dodge may be referring to my stupid comment in the previous thread. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Worried about opening a new thread: "Operation Delta Beta: Upgrading Your Truck".
EDIT: Well...tar and feather me and throw me in the briar patch! Where've you been, Q_O_H??? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ No...wasn't parroting, just not practicing my speed typing again....how goes the project? You just keep answering, gotta take a quick break, will be back. (eventually....warn the populace....)
-
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/The tar and feathers comment brought the image to mind.
Technical difficulties still...but I'm real close.
I been playing with some java just for kicks. I found a site to "Learn java in 21 days". But my search brought me to page 10 with no Home button. Will have to back up on the url and see if I can find the beginning.
Your 21 days are up. Are ya an expert yet?
-
Let's put it this way...if I were going on a trip to the moon, then I'd just be locking up the house right about now. (BTW, you can get the book by the same author at any good book store--it's very good).
Welllllll....poop-a-doop....gotta get back to work.....something about the moon breaking orbit and heading towards San Francisco....will check back later.

The learn in 21 days book? I might hafta see about that. Here's the online one. I just backed up and got to the beginning. Haven't had time to really check it out yet, but I think I could handle this. I really enjoy playing with them. Makin' um do things other than what the script was written for...be easier if I knew for sure what part did what instead of just experimenting with it.
EDIT:
Me too. Later https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Maxx did not get the drivers for the joystick and the other types that go into sound, video and game controller installed and it locked up in the the BIOS?? or damaged the ps or mobo it seems. Hope I am wrong!!
Forgot, he had removed the vga for some reason.

Hi gang https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
As mentioned elsewhere, I had to take a shortcut on the "Delta Maxx" project. After I wrecked...I mean upgraded...the Emachine, I was going to get started in earnest on the new one. Oh well, no need to build now. However, there is still the matter of the Emachine. I think maybe a cheap mobo and a new PS might bring "Lazarus" back from the grave. Perhaps we will give it a try later on. BTW, maybe while we are at it, we'll get that TNT2 card in as well. I believe it survived, but not positive. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Lets see, a little measureing, nibbling [for 300watt ps] a mobo and https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ nah maxx would oc it. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
maxx Take the time with a good light to look over your mobo and check all the capacitors and stuff and see if one is not burned ,broken, or damaged in anyway. You might even be able to smell it.
Just a thought that you might have recieved a electrical spike.

Yeah...put your nose right up to those capacitors and sniff....with a wet nose....with the power on....if you didn't get a "spike" before, then....

I'm going to give it a good look-see when I get the chance. This ressurection will have to be on a really cheap budget, though. Done ran out of money. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Hmmm, Zzzz...oh - well, it's 1.40 AM here, I might as well get to bed and continue my doing there - after this sleeping pill...anyway, I think it's a good thing that somebody takes - yaarrhn - time to make a thorough description of procedures and solutions here. They are not at all boring to a lot of "hungry" people (me included) visiting this board.
Keep it up and keep them coming - well done.
I'm off to b...Zzzzz.

Good evening to all, just got in, took a look at what ya'all be up to, gonna get a bite and be back in a short. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
But two questions. Using a full tower could you set up two complete systems - one for 98 and one for whatever Bill is selling at the time. If possible could it take separate power supplies. just thinkin' while driving home. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Don't even need a full tower; mid-tower would do; just two hard drives and a boot manager, or one of those Trios gizmos that selects which hard drive you want to use.
-
2 partitions
2 harddrives
trays
I think 2 mobo would = rfi and OVERHEATING == trouble myself
Or checkout bistro's post
sounds good , but ??????????

So maybe it isn't that great an idea. The original plan is the one I should follow since I would have a back up system as soon as the OpDe computer was built. I think the KISS and 6Ps principles apply here. The plan we developed and the Oueen of Hearts built is still the best. From what I have learned it would seem we get the most computer for the money spent. Thanks for the comments. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Train, Kinda quiet tonight - you around?
Email shortly.
Bistro, excuse my lack of knowledge with Java and HTML, but don't you need some HTML also or have you got that already? BTW good poem on the other forum. Looks like you wiped the thread out with it. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
And now for the question. What is causing so many black screens lately - PS failures due to heat?

Got HTML years ago, but luckily I had my shots and it was only a mild case. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
No...not really. I suppose it would help a bit to have a knowledge of HTML syntax, but not entirely necessary to learn Java.
As far as that thread goes--it was good intent on everybody's part, but it could have easily gotten out of hand. Ten thousand repliers all chiming in with 8x10 glossy photos... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
