Virus--sulfnbk.exe
Hi all, hope you can Help me.
recieved an Email telling me about a Virus then saying that I have definatly got a virus and that Nortons and others can not detect it. The only way to get it out is to delete it. Anyway it said I have a virus called--sulfnbk.exe and it's a blackish icon and i will find it by typeing it in search/find on start button. There is a sulfnbk.exe in C:\Windows Comm but its a windows icon, not blackish.
Will I be Safe in Deleting that or does Windows need that sulfnbk.exe. Is it a reall Virus or is some twat messing me and a lot of others around. Please advise soonest. Thanks a lot, Dennis

Hi scarecrowdr
your right with the later part of your post(the bit about some twat messing around).
I paid a quick visit to the norton encylopedia gaff & it refers to that e-mail as a hoax. It also says that that file is not neccessary to run windows but is part of a long term restore file personaly I woul'nt delete it. I would've posted the site so you could've clicked on & read yourself had I known how to (must learn that soon)maybe a Dr might tell me(hint to anyone else who reads).
If you want to read it yourself just visit norton's site & he'll put your mind at rest.
Hope it helped. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
