Physical Distance
Hi Everyone!
Is there any documentation on distance limitations between 2 PC's (Server/Client) just using 2 net cards and a cross-over cable?
I'm using 2 Linksys 10/100 cards and I did not find anything in their documentation. The cable is just standard stuff, cut off a roll, bought it at Fry's.
I do realize there should be no limitations inside of a standard house or apartment. Just curious is there is a maximum limitation.
Thanks as usual !

Hi,
The standard calls for 90 mts of Cat-5 cable, solid single strand cable with patch cords at each end, patch cords are made with multi-strand flexible type cables.
If you use only the patch cord multi-strand cable over the whole 100 mts it may not work correctly.
