Is that IP address an external (public) web page?
Essentially, if you have an IP address of a web site, you don't need to enter the HTTP or the .COM (but you already knew that).
If it is a "public" IP address to a web page, it might be using :8080 instead of the default :80 port. But your browser should be able to figure that out.
You could try:
222.222.222.222:8080
The other thing to try is see if you can PING the address. Bring up a command prompt window and type ping 222.222.222.222 and the enter key. If it's good you will have a 0% loss reply. Otherwise, that IP address is dead.
Sounds like your trying to resolve a domain name to your ip address. I did this for a while. I used a script called bind, bought a domain name and just put then together. Then i had halfnite.com, but then the cable company busted me and gave me a nonportable ip addy so that i couldn't run A DNS. Owell good luck and post back if you need help.
