Rogers @home
I have two computers one w/98se and one w/ME, my 98 is already set up with rogers(high Speed) and I want to split this and set up my ME computer with it as well. By simply purchasing a hub and assiging both computers static IP addresses, will this let me use both computers to surf at the same time?? Is there really a need to pay the extra 10.00 they are asking for an additional IP Address??

Static IPs are still using IPs. You need to setup internet sharing of some sort. ME has it built in, you'll need two network cards in the sharing box (or dsl card + nic). If you want the 98 to share you'll need software. 98SE and ME have it built in.
You could chance it and put both computers into the hub and they'll both get IP's from DHCP. Roadrunner didn't seem to notice. Oh wait, @home requires a specific computer name doesn't it? Sharing it is.

I feel like I'm advertising but I got a lot of help sharing an internet connection at this site www.practicallynetworked.com
It comes with step to step instructions. I had problems with the win98se internet sharing and ended up buying a router instead. See reviews of routers as all are not equal.
