Bootup error
When I boot up to a computer that I just formated, installed Dlink 220 nic card and Client 32 on, I get a message before it goes into windows 95 which says, Boot from Network? Yes NO. I say no and it goes into Windows just fine. Can you tell me how to get rid of this nagging message? I have looked everywhere I can think of in sysedit, network settings, etc. In registry I found a bootp comment but am not sure if I can delete this or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carole

Hi
Check the network adapters manufactures homepage for the adapter's manual, if you don't have one. For example with IBM's Ethernet 100 with Intel 82559 chip has it's own bios which you can enter at bootup by typing a shortcut.

In my particulat case, I was *never* going to use the bootrom on the NIC, so I removed the BIOS chip from the card itself. Now the card has no BIOS to boot to....

Thought you might want to know.... I did use the setup disk and low and behold there was a confict in the IRQ setting and I also disabled the romboot. Tadaaa... Now works great. Thanks for the ideas. I had also posted this in Windows 95 but forgot to post back here. Thank u, Carole
