can anyone help me? im using win98 2nd edition and its ie5. and im trying to connect it to a server via internet. all of my settings r correct(i hope) but still it cannot surf. or can anyone tell me how to uninstall ie5. i've deleted ie5 from regedit and its folders and still if i install ie4...it detects a newer ver. pls help me. thanks
I recently found out that if you do a clean install of Win98 2nd Ed, that you cannot uninstall IE5,period. Article ID: Q238670 microsoft Knowledge base. For some reason it also messes up Outlook Express on a network, where OE/IE 4 worked with no problem. I am scouring the internet for a solution. Make sure your internet connection settings reflect your proxy in the meantime.
