Evidence Eliminato program

hope that someone is familiar (sp??) w/ this program and can help me...cannot use the safe restart or shutdown, due to the fact of something writing to disc...tried the usual fixes: shutting down all misc stuff via ctrl-alt-del...any ideas? the help page has nothing...thanks
