MS word label help...
Salve,
I have one document with a massive list of names and addresses. They are unformatted. They are just lines of text with spaces.
Here's an example..
--------------------
Ms. Barbara Qwerty
27 Deer Bridge Road
Abwon, CT 99999
Ms. Collaan Wertyu
P.O. Box 555
Eastridge, CT 89999
---------------------
I am trying to convert this massive list of names into a big label sheet type thing. I have been able to create the correct format for the type of label paper I am using. Besides manually copy and pasting each name and its respective information is there a way I can automatically merge the un-formatted list of names into the label formatted document and then alphabitize it? I really don't want to copy/paste a 1000 names.
Thanks
Mike

Mike, the best way to achieve what you are trying to do is convert your file to a database (Access) or spreadsheet (excel) and then use it as a data source for a mail merge.
This is not a simple task but Office Help does supply very good instructions on mail merge function.
The main problem you may have is getting your unformatted list to export in a manageable way into Excel/Access.
An easy way out (you will not be able to sot the records) may be to format one entry in yout list as a label and then use the format painter tool to paste the formatting onto the other entries?
