DSL Modem
I am not sure where to post this query, hardware or internet, but I will try here first. I have had ADSL for several years and the modem provided "free" by the DSL provider is an Alcatel Speedstream modem which connects to my computer via a USB port and drivers. I now have a home network router to which I would like to directly connect the ADSL line. Unfortunately the router only accepts ethernet connections. Short of replacing the modem with an ethernet modem which the DSL provider will gladly sell me for $200, I am at a loss.
I know it is a long shot, but is there any such thing as an adaptor which would convert USB to ethernet, or does anyone know of an inexpensive (compared to $200)external DSL modem that connects via ethernet.
Thanks,
Mike
