Default Mapi client

https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ I can't make OE6 my default e-mail app. The "Make Outlook Express my default e-mail program" check box in Tools\Options\General tab is there, but the Default Simple MAPI check box is greyed out.

I'm assuming that I have a registry problem. Can anyone shed any light as to which key?

In IE, click on Tools, Internet Options, then under the programs tab, select outlook express for email.
