a bare bones x windows
i need some advice, i`m using linux on a very old machine, with very little hard drive space, a very slow processor, and virtually zero ram memory.
i`m planning to install x windows; and i would really appreciate if somebody could tell me what are the packages that i need to run that. i`m not even thinking in using gnome or kde nor any other window manager/desktop like that, perhaps twm, or maybe swm; and i`m planning to use a mono x server, with a vga card. nothing fancy, you get the idea... what i really like to know is what are the bare minimum packages, or programs that i need to run that.
thanks in advance.

i can`t believe it. i finally made it, i have a running x windows install on my machine.
in the end, i`ve chosen `tiny x`, a very small xfree86 package from:
http://www.superant.com/smalllinux/
the system runs a bit slow, but is very good to have that. now i have to learn how to configure everything in the ~/.xinit and ~/.Xdefaults...
and then, networking.
