windows 3.1

hello i'm having problems with my computer since 31dec99. i know very little about computers. what iwould be obvious to most is a mystery to me.1st my date is reading 1980 2nd once only it said i had to update the 3.1 but i have know clue how to do that?any help would be great thanks david

at the dos prompt...

c:\>date <enter>

the date is 08-08-1980
set the new date to 00-00-00

then set the new date...
using the date command...

i'm not sure about a 3.1 upgrade...
i think it's called win95
