why is my dos tree command not working?

What exectly the message did you see when try to execute TREE command?

tree IS A EXTERNAL ORDER, YOU NEED A FILE
NAMED tree.exe or tree.com SAVED IN YOUR hd, AND A PATH TO THAT FILE OR EXECUTE IT FROM THE SAME DIRECTORY.
