Hi!
1) Make sure that there is statement in your config.sys that says
DEVICE=C:\DOS(OR WINDOWS)\SETVER.EXE
if not, add one and reboot the system.
2)Copy the file RESTORE.EXE from DOS Ver 6.00
to a new folder, this way you don't overwrite you current RESTORE.EXE.
3)At DOS Prompt, go to the folder that you saved RESTORE.EXE Ver 6.00 and type:
SETVER RESTORE.EXE 6.00 <Enter>
(Repeat 2) and 3) for different Ver. of DOS)
4) Reboot your computer so that the change takes effect.
5)At DOS Prompt, go to the folder with RESTORE.EXE Ver 6.00. Insert the floppy to be restored from and type:
RESTORE 1ST:<SPACE>2ND:\LOCATION<ENTER>
For example, it the file cc505108.001 was backup from D:\TEMP, the command would be
RESTORE A: D:\TEMP\CC505108.001 <Enter>
(If you are not sure this command, go to DOS and type HELP RESTORE.EXE)
P.S. The restored file will be in compressed format because it was backup from a compressed disk.
Hope this helps!
Repost if you still have problem.
