XP on old partition to small...
So, I installed XP today and WOW!!! Needless to say I am SPRUNG. I LOVE IT. It was a dream to install. Everything went incredibly easy. I was stunned to find out all my internal HW was already installed and configured, all I had to do was set the screen resolution and install my printer, I was good to go and already online too.
Question: I used my old partition from Win98, --2Gigs. I have a 40Gig HD so am not lacking in space(yet...) I can see now that 2 Gigs is not near enough space for XP. I already recieved a warning I was low on disk space on C Drive.
Here's my partitions:
C: 2G
D: 15G - 5 used as music storage
E: 10G - 5 used as application storage
F: 5G - Misc junk
I dunno where the other space is, no OS ever recognizes it, although when I first got it t was recognized, it sorta disappeared.
I used Fdisk to partition, is it possible to repartition INSIDE C & D and create say... 5-10 Gigs for WinXP or do I need to do the entire Drive?
What is the best way to do this? I wanna do it now before I get it all loaded up with new stuff.
I am networked with hubby's computer, (installed XP there today too, will need to do the same thing on an 8Gig HD) ...so I can move files to his drive and totally clear it off if I need to. I am willing to dump most of the stored applications but not the music.
Advice, please?
