On my windows NT windows explorer, when I try to rename a file, the filename text box disappear completely so that editing the filename is impossible. Does any one know how to correct this problem? I really appreciate your help.

Do you have Iomega Tools installed?
If so, kill imgicon.exe using Task Manager and remove the shortcut to imgicon.exe from Startup or upgrade your tools.

No, I do not have Iomega Tools installed on my PC. Is it possible that some settings in the windows registry might alter the behavior of Windows Explorer application?
