copying files to new server

I am in the process of beginning the setup of a new NT server to replace the full, slower old one. Now can I transfer the contents of the old hard drive to the new one without installing NT first on the new drive and if so what is the best and easiest way to do so? Is there any sites out there that contain info to help out? Should I install the HD as a master in the new machine, slave up the new HD and copy? ANy ideas/help greatly appreciated.

I would go with your master/slave approach. Copy the files from the master to the slave, remove the master then rejumper the slave for stand alone and install NT.
