Keyboard

I lost my keyboard on bootup. The keyboard is fine so thats not it. How do I get the driver reinstalled or restarted so I can type control alt delete to log into NT? The other question is how do I access a cdrom on a peer to peer network so I can reinstall nt on a computer without a cdrom drive?

You just need to share the CD ROM. and then run from there. I myself would copy the i386 folder to the HDD. As far as the other part the keyboard... If you are sure the KB is OK, you could replace the KB controller chip on the Motherboard or replace the motherboard. I don't think replacing the chip is really worth it unless you have another chip! If the motherboard is still under warranty, send it back.

also what happens if you boot to a dos prompt? does the KB work at the dos prompt?

I have seen this before, you install a new piece of hardware or software and the keyboard fails to load. Your best hope is to BOOT WITH LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION. I have found this to be successful in many cases. You can then change some registry settings to increase the timeout on the ps2 port. try getting at the event viewer on the affected machine from another machine in the same domain, you should see the error message and suggested solution there if the timeout problem is present.
